Slideshow Presentation Template
A lot of clients at the marketing agency wanted slideshow templates. Most of the time they would ask for a template and really just mean they wanted our designers to create the whole presentation for them. And we happily obliged :)
I became the "PowerPoint Guy" around the office because I actually like making these things. It's an easy way to enhance the way you look without requiring too many resources. Creating them doesn't take much skill, but crafting interesting layouts that communicate well certainly is.
Add to all of that, when someone wants a "template" you have to make certain decisions. You aren't designing for existing content, but anticipated content. Not to mention, I usually created the layouts in two different aspect ratios for the client: "widescreen" and "regular."
Below are a few slides from a much larger template I created in PowerPoint, which included multiple column layouts, flip-flopped versions of each layout style, and a page with icons that you could edit within PowerPoint.
